El Gòtic is a neighborhood that belongs to the Ciutat Vella district. The Museu d'Història de Barcelona (MUHBA) exhibits remains of Roman cities, and Barcelona's historical heritage. In the Plaza del Pi there’s a craft art market every week.
It stands out for its narrow medieval alleys full of trendy bars, pubs and Catalan restaurants. It’s name was given with the idea of attracting more tourists, and due to the Catalan bourgeois identifying with gothic art.
